The Congress party has intensified its efforts to fill the Governor's quota MLC seats that will soon be vacant in Telangana. According to reliable sources, the name of Pavitravani, daughter of Konda Laxman Bapuji, one of the fathers of the Telangana movement, is being considered for a position. She belongs to the Padmasali community and is currently in the medical profession. This development has gained significance in the context of the announcement made in the Sircilla Sabha that an MLC seat will be allotted to the Padmasali community as per the promise made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Konda Laxman Bapuji made history by becoming the first leader to resign from the post of minister during the 1969 movement for the achievement of Telangana state. However, since Revanth Reddy was the Leader of the Opposition, he has been alleging that the previous BRS government ignored the families of the activists after the state was formed. After becoming the CM, steps were taken in that direction. Professor Kodandaram has been appointed as an MLC, while Srikanthachari's mother Shankaramma and Chakali Ailamma's granddaughter have been appointed as members of the Women's Commission. It is reported that a proposal has been made to give a chance to Bapuji's daughter in this order.
The terms of MLCs Gorati Venkanna, Baswaraju Saraiah and Boggarapu Dayanand will end on November 14. One of these three seats will be reserved for the Padmasali community. It seems that the Congress high command believes that by selecting Pavitravani, besides giving respect to the movement family, it will also create a positive atmosphere for the party among BCs and women.
However, other Padmasali leaders in the party are also trying hard for the same seat. Names like former MLA Eeravatri Anil and Nalgonda DCC President Kailash Neta are also being discussed. CM Revanth Reddy and the party high command will take the final decision after weighing all the equations.
Will Konda Laxman Bapuji's daughter get the post of MLC?
