A funny comment made by Team India's senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on social media has now gone viral. He made an interesting comment on the post of Chief Selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Jadeja's post became a topic of discussion within hours of the BCCI officially announcing the end of Ajit Agarkar's tenure.

Ajit Agarkar's tenure as the chairman of the senior men's selection committee ended on October 4. He took charge in July 2023 and has not shown any interest in extending his tenure. During his tenure, India won the 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cups as well as the 2025 Champions Trophy and won three ICC titles. In this context, when the BCCI announced that there was a vacancy in the selection committee, Jadeja tweeted on Wednesday, "What is the procedure for that?" with a laughing emoji.

Jadeja recently returned to the team with the ODI series against the West Indies. Earlier, he missed the Afghanistan and England ODI series. However, Jadeja's performance in ODIs has not been up to expectations for some time now. In the last 15 ODIs played since 2025, he has scored only 149 runs at an average of 29.80. In bowling, he has taken only 14 wickets at an average of 47.93. In the 5 matches played this year, he has taken only 2 wickets and scored 43 runs.

However, Jadeja is still a key player in the Test format. He has shown his strength by taking 8 wickets and scoring 65 runs in the two Tests against Sri Lanka. In this context, there is uncertainty as to whether Jadeja will be selected for the New Zealand tour starting from November 22.

Meanwhile, ahead of the West Indies series, Team India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has come out in support of Jadeja. He believes that Jadeja will definitely be in the plans for the 2027 ODI World Cup. "Jadeja is an excellent all-rounder. His experience is very important for the team. He will be very useful to the team with fielding, batting and bowling. Like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Jadeja's experience will also add a lot of strength to the team," explained Kotak.
