YSRCP leader and former MP Gorantla Madhav said that the police attack on four Dalit youths in Tenali, Guntur district has shocked the entire country. He said that the court's acquittal of the four youths is like a slap in the face to the government. He demanded that the Chandrababu Naidu government take responsibility for the humiliation and mental anguish faced by the victims in this incident. He demanded that the families of the victims be paid ex-gratia immediately.
Gorantla Madhav recalled that the incident of the police brutally beating four youths on the road last year created a sensation across the country. He said that since the court acquitted the youths in this case, it is clear that the government had fabricated a false case against them. He questioned the government as to who would be responsible for the dignity and self-respect of the victims.
Gorantla Madhav accused the current government of trampling on the rights of the people by obstructing the police system. He criticized the police, who are supposed to implement laws like the Indian Penal Code and the Indian Citizen Security Code, for ignoring them and instead implementing the 'Red Book' controlled by Nara Lokesh. He expressed his concern that some officers were tarnishing the reputation of the police department by addressing government officials as 'Ji Huzoor'.
