There is a lot of confusion in Russia. The death of a young researcher working in a key laboratory in Siberia from an unknown disease is raising many suspicions. Alarmed by this incident, Russian authorities have identified about 200 people who came into close contact with her and placed them under medical supervision. Although people are being told not to worry, the fact that a criminal investigation has been opened into the incident shows the seriousness of the situation.

Going into details... 28-year-old Daria Shipilova was working as a researcher at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Research Institute in Siberia. She was admitted to the hospital on September 29 with severe pneumonia. As her condition worsened, she was put on a ventilator and treated, but she lost her life on October 1. However, the exact cause of her death is still unknown. There is a rumor that she contracted the infection after a test tube containing biological samples accidentally broke while working in the laboratory.

The Russian public health agency 'Rospotrebnadzor' has responded to the incident. It officially announced that the researcher died of pneumonia of unknown causes. However, it denied reports that she died due to the plague. It clarified that the public health situation in the Irkutsk region is completely under control and stable.

However, the authorities have intensified precautionary measures. About 197 people who were in contact with the deceased have been identified and quarantined. Special isolation wards have been set up in some hospitals. The Chief Sanitary Doctor of Russia himself has arrived in the area to review the situation.

On the other hand, a criminal investigation has been ordered into whether there was a violation of safety regulations at the workplace in the laboratory. Although officials say that there is currently no outbreak of any disease, the incident is causing concern locally.
