A major incident took place during an Annadana program organized on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi in Vijayawada. A woman who accidentally fell into a pot of hot sambar and was seriously injured died while undergoing treatment in the hospital. The incident has filled the city with tragedy.

Going into details, Maddi Sujatha of KLRaonagar Fifth Street lives with her young son. An Annadana program was organized on the occasion of Vinayaka immersion organized on their street on September 20. Sujatha was helping in the cooking work along with her relatives for this program. 

In this process, while moving a large sambar pot that was taken off the stove with another woman, Sujatha lost control and fell directly into the hot sambar pot.

In this mishap, Sujatha's face, chest and entire body were severely burned. Immediately, the alert locals pulled her out of the pot and rushed her to a nearby government hospital. She was undergoing treatment there and breathed her last on Monday as her condition deteriorated.

Upon receiving this information, the police reached the spot and collected details. A case has been registered and investigation is underway. CCTV footage of the accident has also come out. The incident has cast a shadow of sadness over the locality.
