There is a great deal of grief at the home of Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP). His maternal grandmother passed away today in Hingoli district of Maharashtra. At the same time, Abhijeet's being in police custody in Delhi has made the situation more complicated. There is a lot of anxiety whether the police will allow him to be with his family in this difficult time or not.
Going into details.. Abhijeet's maternal grandmother (father Bhagwan Dipke's mother) residing in Santuk Pimpri village of Hingoli district of Maharashtra had been suffering from chronic illness and age-related problems for some time. Her health deteriorated and she breathed her last on Saturday. By the time this news came to light, Abhijeet was in police custody in Delhi.
Alleging irregularities in the revision of the voter list, the CJP has called for a protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. Abhijeet, along with two other party members Saurav Das and Ashutosh Rankala, had taken a flight from Mumbai to Delhi to participate in this. However, as soon as the plane landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi Police entered the plane and detained all three.
