The income from the Srivari Hundi in Tirumala yesterday (Sunday) alone was recorded at Rs. 5.07 crore, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) revealed. Since it was a weekend holiday, devotees thronged the temple in large numbers to have darshan of the deity.
According to the statistics released by TTD, a total of 83,578 devotees visited the temple on September 27. 31,137 devotees paid oblations and offered talaneelas. TTD has made extensive arrangements to accommodate the rush of devotees. Officials said that a record 4.39 lakh laddus were sold on this occasion. Similarly, Annaprasadam was provided to about 2.88 lakh devotees. TTD stated that 3,631 people were provided medical services at Ashwini Hospital in Tirumala.
The rush of devotees continued on Monday morning as well. Currently, all the compartments in the Vaikuntam queue complex are full and the queue lines have extended outside to the stone arch. TTD officials estimate that it will take about 18 hours for devotees without Sarva Darshan tokens to have darshan of Srivari. Keeping in mind the rush of devotees, officials advise those planning a trip to Tirumala to note this.
