Tension prevailed in the national capital Delhi on Friday. Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Deepke, who had called for a protest called 'Tiranga Yatra' at Central Park in Connaught Place, was detained by the police. Minutes after his arrest, All India Students Association (AISA) national president Neha Bora and other Left activists who were on their way to participate in the protest were detained by the police at Mandi House.

Abhijeet Deepke had called for this 'Tiranga Assembly' to protest against the arrest of CJP co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ramkala. He asked people to reach Connaught Place and hoist the national flag. However, the Delhi Police issued two notices to Deepke on Friday morning, stating that the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) did not have permission for this event and prohibitory orders were already in force in the area. They warned that legal action would be taken if the rules were violated.

Responding to these arrests, CJP spokesperson Mehr Pasricha said, "We have the right to decide where to fly the national flag. No one should impose restrictions on it. Two of our colleagues were arrested at Jantar Mantar and sent to jail just for displaying the flag. However, we will not back down."

The police notice stated that there are prohibitory orders at Central Park under Section 163 of the IPC. Moreover, when they were earlier detained at the airport, Deepke and his colleagues had given a bond before the court that they would not cause any public unrest for a year, which the police also reminded in their notice.
