India won the three-match ODI series against the West Indies 2-1. However, the series win did not give complete satisfaction to captain Shubman Gill. Gill made it clear that the team still has a lot to improve, especially in the fielding and death overs bowling departments. He made these comments after India lost the third and final ODI by five wickets in New Chandigarh yesterday.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Gill said, "Many things went in our favor in this series. However, there are a few things that need to be focused on. Our 351 in the third ODI was a good score. We were in control of the match for a long time. But in the final stages, West Indies played brilliantly and snatched the match away from us." He said that

the slow over-rate also hurt the team, and the fielding conditions in the death overs became unfavorable as we were four overs behind schedule. Gill specifically mentioned death bowling.

He felt that sometimes there is uncertainty about whether to bowl attacking or play defensively by restricting runs when the opposition team has lost five or six wickets. He suggested that more clarity is needed on this issue.

Above all, Gill expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the fielding. He said that his fielders dropped about six to seven catches in the entire series, which is completely unacceptable. He commented that such mistakes should not be repeated before a mega tournament like the World Cup. While

he was satisfied with the team's progress, he made it clear that fielding should be at the highest level and there was no room for compromise in this regard.
