MLC Parvatareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy has accused the government of robbing the people of Nellore in the name of taxes. Speaking in Tadepalli, he said, "The tax collection in the Nellore Municipal Corporation should be examined once. While Rs. 44 crore was collected in 2019-20, the amount reached Rs. 77 crore by 2024-25. By 2025-26, Minister Narayana has increased that amount to Rs. 111 crore. The target for that collection in this financial year has been set at Rs. 154 crore. They are robbing the people by increasing tax collection."
