A woman from the state of Florida in the US has successfully completed a rare adventure. She set a new record by cycling 7,000 miles across 48 states in just 6 days. She undertook this journey as a thank you to a charity that stood by her during a difficult situation almost 22 years ago and raised $17,560 (approximately Rs. 14.6 lakhs).
Jess Rips, a resident of Palm Beach County, Florida, began her adventure on May 12, 2026. Traveling an average of more than 1,100 miles per day, she covered 48 states in just six days. Despite facing many challenges like adverse weather and traffic, she completed her goal with unwavering determination. By doing so, she set a record as the fastest woman to complete a tour of the 48 states.
There is a strong reason behind this adventure. 22 years ago, Jess’s daughter was born prematurely, weighing just 2 pounds. An organization called Quantum House supported Jess during her nearly three months in intensive care. Not only did it ease the financial burden of providing her with a place to stay close to the hospital, it also gave her the opportunity to connect with other mothers, giving her a sense of hope.
“Not only did the organization ease the financial burden on our family, but it also gave me the opportunity to connect with others who were going through the same thing,” Jess recalls. She presented the $17,560 check she had collected to Quantum House representatives with her two daughters. She said it was a sweet gesture to donate with the daughter whose health condition forced her to stay there. The donation will help Quantum House continue to provide services such as housing and meals to families of children undergoing treatment for illnesses. Jess documented her journey on her YouTube channel, Rips Unfiltered.
That mother's gratitude... 48 states in 6 days... 7,000 miles of bike travel!
