Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President YS Sharmila was placed under house arrest by the police today. A heavy police presence was deployed at her residence in Kesarpalli near Gannavaram since morning. The police took these steps to prevent the 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' program organized by the India Alliance parties in Vijayawada.

The India Alliance has called for this protest, alleging that names were deleted from the voter list on a large scale and demanding the resignation of Central Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. It has been decided to organize a yatra from Lenin Center in Vijayawada to Raj Bhavan at 10 am this morning. However, the police have clarified that there is no permission for this program.

In this context, along with Sharmila, the police are placing several key leaders of the Congress and Left parties under house arrest at various places. On the other hand, security has also been tightened at Raj Bhavan to prevent any untoward incident. There is a lot of excitement about whether Sharmila will come out of her house amidst police restrictions. Everyone is curious about what the next developments will be.
