The police investigation into the attack on the TDP central office, which created a sensation during the previous YSRCP government, has been accelerated. NTR District Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu has issued orders to open rowdy sheets against a total of 51 people, including several key leaders of the YSRCP, in this case. The presence of prominent names like YSRCP MLCs Talashila Raghuram, Lella Appireddy, and NTR District YSRCP President Devineni Avinash in this list has gained political significance.

Going into details, on October 19, 2021, there was a large-scale attack on the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, Guntur district. The Commissioner has recently ordered the SHOs of nine police stations under the NTR Police Commissionerate to open rowdy sheets on this incident. Clear instructions have been issued to the Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to personally monitor this process.

This attack took place when the YSRCP was in power in the past. A large number of YSRCP supporters reached the TDP office on allegations that TDP spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram had made inappropriate comments towards the then Chief Minister Jagan. They barged into the office with sticks and hammers and destroyed furniture and window panes. TDP leaders alleged that they also destroyed cars parked in the premises.

A case was registered against a total of 110 people, including Talashila Raghuram, Devineni Avinash, Lella Appireddy and YSRCP General Secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, at the Mangalagiri Rural Police Station over this incident. A case was registered under IPC sections 147, 148, 323, 324, 326, 307, 380, 427, 459, 452, 506 read with 109, 120-B, 149 and an investigation was launched.

The case came to light again after the TDP-led NDA coalition came to power in June 2024. In October 2024, the state government handed over the investigation of this case to the CID. Along with this, the case of the attack on Chandrababu's residence in September 2021 was also transferred to the CID for investigation. With the latest developments, the speeding up of the investigation of old cases and the opening of rowdy sheets against YSRCP leaders has become a topic of discussion in state politics.
