The Navratri Brahmotsavams of Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy concluded with a grandeur on Tuesday morning with the Chakrasnanam. While the priests gave a holy bath to Sudarshana Chakrathalwar in Srivari Pushkarini, thousands of devotees took holy baths and immersed themselves in devotional ecstasy. The nine-day festival, which was a feast for the eyes, ended with this holy event.
Before the Chakrasnanam, Sridevi, Bhudevi and Malayappa Swamy along with Sudarshana Chakrathalwar were performed in the Mukha Mandapam of Sri Bhuvarahaswamy Temple. They were anointed with spices like milk, honey, coconut water, turmeric and sandalwood. On the occasion of this holy ritual, TTD Vedaparayanadars recited Purushasuktam, Srisuktam and Upanishad mantras. Later, Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar and Chinna Jeeyar Swamis sang Pasuras. The Swami and Ammavar were beautifully decorated with special flower garlands.
Chakrasnaman gives completeness to the Brahmotsavams that lasted for nine days. This Avabhrutha bath is performed to pray that the world may be prosperous and all living beings may flourish with prosperity. Like the Avabhrutha bath performed at the end of the Mahayagna, prayers are prayed on this occasion for the fruits of the Brahmotsavam Yajna to be obtained. Devotees have a deep belief that by touching the Sudarshana Chakra, the Pushkarini waters become more pure and taking bath at that time will bring all auspiciousness.
TTD EO Muddada Ravichandra, Additional EO CH Venkaiah Chowdhury, Board members Bhanuprakash Reddy, Panabaka Lakshmi, Naresh Kumar, JEO Gopinath, CVSO Muralikrishna, District SP L. Subbaraidu, along with many high-ranking officials and a large number of devotees participated.
