The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) have jointly given a sweet news to the residents of Hyderabad. With the aim of making public transport in the city easier and eliminating the hassles of passengers, the 'Common Pass' system was launched on Friday. Through this new system, passengers will now have the facility to travel in RTC buses and metro trains with a single pass.
Currently, lakhs of people travel in the city every day for jobs and other work. Many of them have to travel some distance in the metro and some distance in the bus. In such cases, taking tickets or passes separately at two places was time-consuming and somewhat inconvenient. To solve this problem, the RTC and Metro officials introduced this common pass.
Two types of passes and price details
Two types of common passes have been made available according to the needs of passengers.
Daily pass: Its price has been fixed at Rs. 400. In this, Rs. 300 has been allocated for metro travel and Rs. 100 for RTC bus travel. With this pass, you can travel unlimitedly in metro and city buses for a whole day.
Monthly pass: This pass has been introduced for those who travel for a month. Its price has been finalized at Rs. 8,500. In this, the Metro share is Rs. 7,000 and the RTC share is Rs. 1,500.
A deposit of Rs. 100 has to be paid when taking this common pass card for the first time. The amount will be refunded when the passengers return the card. However, this pass allows you to travel in all other RTC city buses except Pushpak AC buses running inside the ORR.
Digital services with 'My Ticket' app
Not only the common pass, RTC has also launched more digital services for the convenience of passengers. For this, it has brought a new mobile app called 'My Ticket'. Through this app, it has introduced the 'Open Ticketing' system where passengers buy tickets themselves. This will permanently put an end to the problems of small buses. Passengers can download the app and easily get tickets for the route they want to travel by making digital payments.
A digital weekly bus pass has also been made available on the same app. By paying Rs. 600 and getting this pass, one can travel unlimitedly on all types of city buses for a week. Officials believe that these new policies have ushered in revolutionary changes in the public transport system in Hyderabad and will provide a more comfortable and seamless travel experience to passengers.
