BJP Telangana president Ramchandra Rao has called on party cadres to strongly refute the Congress's allegations of 'vote theft' over the Special Amendment (SIR) process. He clarified that the Election Commission (EC) has prepared the voters' list in a transparent manner in accordance with the Supreme Court guidelines. Ramchandra
Rao was speaking at a meeting with top party leaders and media panelists at the BJP state office in Hyderabad on Saturday. He denied the false allegations being made by the Congress on the removal of stolen votes. He criticized the Congress party, which has been losing in consecutive elections, for trying to smear constitutional institutions.
He advised the party cadres to expose the 'vote theft' campaign undertaken by the Congress among the people and explain the benefits of a clean voters' list in a democracy. Ramchandra Rao made these comments in the wake of the Congress party's agitation across the state alleging that the names of its supporters are being illegally removed from the voters' list. Congress leaders have already filed a complaint with the police on this issue and have also met the President at the national level to present their arguments.
