Ranabali' - Movie Review
Vijay Deverakonda is moving forward with his own mass action mark in love .. romance stories. This time Vijay Deverakonda has chosen a story with a historical background and has changed his look. That is the film he has made. Since it is a film made by Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika together after their marriage, expectations have naturally increased. Let's see if Rahul Sankrityan, who had previously given a hit to Nani with the historical background 'Shyam Singaray', will also give a hit to Vijay Deverakonda with this film.

It is the time of the 1870s .. the days when the British were dominating India. The British Commissioner (Arnold Vaslu) is planning to move 5 lakh tons of grain from the border area through goods trains and deliver it to England from the Madras port. However, he faces a challenge from the 'Singanamala' area. Because 'Ranabali' (Vijay Deverakonda) is the protector of the area. The people of the area believe that no one has the courage to oppose him.

The people of 'Singanamala' believe that a supernatural power in a cave on the hill there protects them. That power tells his mother that 'Ranabali' is the cause of death. That power tells him that it will take two Pushkaras to complete the work he came to this earth for, and after that he will be buried. The mother keeps praying to all the gods to rescue him from that grave. When he reaches old age, he marries Jayamma (Rashmika).

'Ranabali' realizes that the drought in the Seema region is not caused by nature, but by the British Commissioner's attempt to transport the grain in their area to England. He steps into the field to stop it. The British commissioner, who thought that the number of rebels would increase because of him, enters the fray with a fury. What will happen then? Will the English officer's wish be fulfilled? Will Ranabali's attempt be successful? That is the rest of the story.

During the British era, heroes emerged in the respective regions questioning their dominance. Under the leadership of those heroes, the people there raised the flag of rebellion. Thus, the director brought 'Ranabali' to the screen as a hero who opposed the British rule from the Rayalaseema region. This story is the struggle between an English officer who tried to push Rayalaseema further into famine... and Ranabali who was thwarted in his efforts.

'Ranabali's birth as the cause... his growth as a hero... his marriage to Jayamma... until then, he was the head of the village and then his preparation to satisfy the hunger of the people of the region... are presented to the audience in the first half. His journey and struggle against the English authorities will be shown in the second half. Overall, this story is based on love, romance, action and emotions.

It is easy to read about historical events in books. But staging scenes related to them is not so easy. It must be said that director Rahul Sankrityan has also succeeded only to a certain extent in this regard. Because he seems to have put the full focus on history and neglected the entertainment aspects.

The lack of entertainment elements in the story and the fact that historical events are shown with clippings with dates and years gives a documentary flavor. The lack of interesting twists and turns is a bit disappointing. The pre-climax and the climax on the beach are not bad. The scenes that come after that seem like a continuation.

There is enough bloodshed from the action side. However, there seems to be a lack of depth from the romance and emotions side. Although the story is strong, the story progresses very slowly. Now, whether it is about Ranbali's mother or his wife, the childbirth scenes will bother the audience.

The audience is aware of the Vijay Deverakonda-Rashmika chemistry. With a different look, both of them did it with great ease. Arnold Vaslu looks decent and silently shows his villainy. The photography is good and the way the locations related to the Seema area are covered is impressive. Ajay-Atul's background music is not bad. If you look at the songs, only the song 'Yendhaiya Saami' is memorable. Karthik Srinivas' editing is exemplary. There are some scenes that need to be trimmed.

This story woven by Rahul Sankrityan is interesting. However, when it comes to the revelation, it moves with a slow pace. It must be said that he succeeded in creating the atmosphere of the 1870s on screen. Vijay Deverakonda - Rashmika's look .. acting is impressive. It must be said that both of them have memorable roles in their careers. However, the romance between them .. duets does not live up to the expectations of the audience.
