On the occasion of Durga Puja, President Draupadi Murmu extended her warm greetings to all Indians at home and abroad. Stating that this festival is a symbol of respect for women, she said that respecting women is the true worship we offer to the Goddess.

Releasing a message to this effect, the President said that Durga Puja is a testament to the victory of good over evil. Durga Mata's killing of Mahishasura is an inspiring testament to how divine powers defeat evil forces. She said that this festival reflects India's spiritual heritage and cultural traditions.

On this occasion, the President stressed the importance of respect and empowerment of women. "We can show our true devotion to Durga Mata only by giving due respect to women in every aspect of personal and social life," she clarified. She suggested that the ideals of the worship of the Goddess should be shaped into a sense of respect for women.

President Draupadi Murmu wished that with the blessings of Goddess Durga, peace and prosperity would prevail in the lives of all citizens and that the country would move forward more rapidly on the path of development.
