Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a buzzword around the world. Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has come up with a new proposal to change the name of this technology that has become a part of our daily lives. He suggested that AI should be replaced with SI (Super Intelligence). He also agreed to change the name of his company, SpaceXAI, to SpaceXSI. Musk made a
short post on the social media platform X saying, "No more AI." He believed that the word SI would be better than AI. A user who responded to Musk's post asked, "So will you change the name of SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI?" Musk responded positively to this and replied, "We will definitely change it."
However, the orders issued by US President Donald Trump were behind Musk's decision. On September 30, Trump issued a key executive order. According to it, it was clarified that the term 'super intelligence' should be used instead of the term 'artificial intelligence' in official communications of the US government.
The government stated in the fact sheet related to the order that the term 'super intelligence' accurately reflects the true capabilities of the technologies currently being developed. Trump also recently asked the heads of leading AI companies to use this new name in a meeting. It is noteworthy that Musk responded in this direction only after Trump's order.
Musk's statement went viral on social media. Netizens are getting mixed reactions to it. "The good days of AI are over," one commented, while another user opined, "It will always be AI, just changing the name won't change anything." Others supported Musk, saying, "It's time to change the name of SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI." Overall, this new name change has become a hot topic of discussion in the technology sector.
Not AI, but SI.. Elon Musk follows Trump's lead.. SI wants to change the company's name!
