Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has heaped praise on young Indian all-rounder Naman Dhir. He said that he clearly knows his role in the team and is performing accordingly. He said that along with bowling and fielding, he has the ability to score runs quickly at the end, which will give balance to the team.

It is known that Naman played a key role in India's four-wicket victory in the first T20I against New Zealand. Chasing a huge target of 226, he scored an unbeaten 42 runs in just 15 balls to lead the team to victory. India reached the target with two balls to spare. This is the highest target chase for India in T20Is.

Speaking to the media in the backdrop of this match, Kotak expressed confidence in Naman's talent. He said that the way he played in the last six to eight balls of the last match is a testament to his ability.

"Naman is a very interesting talent. He is a powerful player. He knows what the team expects from him. He is playing accordingly. This is a very good sign," said Kotak.

He explained that if the opposition team has more left-handed batsmen, Naman can bowl four overs, and if the left-handed and right-handed batsmen are equal, he can bowl one or two overs. He also said that he will be useful to the team as a good fielder and finisher. He said that his batting technique, the way he stays at the crease, his power and the way he deals with short balls are impressive. In

the first match, Sanju Samson scored 67 runs in 33 balls and put on a 93-run partnership with Abhishek Sharma in the powerplay. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 42 runs in 28 balls. Kotak said that he was impressed by the way Sanju and Abhishek played without fear under pressure.

He said that if they get out quickly in two consecutive matches, they may be afraid of losing wickets in the third match as well. However, he praised Sanju and Abhishek for playing aggressively and showing control over their game.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan was ruled out of the second T20 due to a groin injury. With this, there are speculations that 15-year-old young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi may make it to the final team. However, Kotak did not give a clear guarantee on when he will be given a chance.

Kotak believes that it is not good to put too much expectation on Vaibhav from the beginning. “He is very talented. The future is bright. But we cannot make changes in the final team just because everyone likes him and wants him to play. Only the 11 players in the team should be selected,” he said.

He said that the hype that came out about Vaibhav playing in the beginning has put unnecessary pressure on the young player. He said that he is now more mature and understands the competition in the team. He explained that he is working on fielding, fitness, and batting, and is learning by watching how senior players play.

Kotak made it clear that he has no intention of changing Vaibhav's natural aggression. He said that he has discussed with him how to know which shots to play depending on the ball situation. Unlike players who try to create shots wherever the ball lands, Vaibhav is able to dictate the game in his favor and play shots.
