Senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor has reacted strongly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'failed product' remarks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that the BJP is actually focusing entirely on Rahul Gandhi and is trying to portray him as a villain. Rahul Gandhi has infused new enthusiasm among the youth, and Shashi Tharoor suggested that the BJP should be vigilant after noticing this.

Speaking at a conference held in Delhi on Friday, Shashi Tharoor said, "In the last few months, Rahul Gandhi has infused great enthusiasm, especially among the young voters. It would be good if the BJP recognizes this fact and wakes up. In fact, I think the BJP is paying too much attention to Rahul and is trying to portray him as a villain."

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the same venue, criticized the Congress party for repeatedly using its 'failed product' and putting the country at risk. "Even from Sriharikota, so many experiments can be done in a year, but the Congress will make more failed attempts to 're-launch' its leader," he said, indirectly referring to Rahul Gandhi.

Shashi Tharoor refuted these allegations made by the Prime Minister. He did not agree with Modi's comments that the Nehru-Gandhi family has become a burden for the Congress. Shashi Tharoor revealed that there is immense internal democracy in the Congress, of which he is an example. "Although I have expressed different views on some occasions, I still remain in the party. The party has given me the opportunity to chair the parliamentary committee and also entrusted me with the responsibility of election campaigning. Just because I express a different opinion, I will not be seen as anti-party," he clarified.

Shashi Tharoor also responded to the Prime Minister's criticism of the Congress as a 'parasite' that does not allow others to grow. He stated that the values the Congress party adheres to and its political policies will give him strong support. They expressed confidence that they are ready to face the BJP government head-on on key issues related to the country's future.
