State Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has instructed officials to identify lands on a war footing for the construction of the proposed Indiramma Towers in the Hyderabad Core Urban Region (CURE) area. He was speaking at a review meeting held with top officials in Hyderabad. On this occasion, a lengthy discussion was held with the collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts on the progress of the 'CURE' Indiramma Towers and double bedroom house schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy revealed that a total of one lakh Indiramma flats will be constructed in three phases in the CURE area. He advised the officials to quickly acquire the lands required for the second and third phases in addition to the first phase that is currently underway. He directed that the selection process of the beneficiaries be completed in a transparent manner by the end of this month. Clear guidelines were issued to the officials to broadcast the lottery process for selection live on YouTube.

The minister explained that the main objective of Indiramma Towers is to provide housing to the poor in the city near their residential areas and employment routes. He stated that the government's goal is not to move the poor to the outskirts of the city. He assured that beneficiaries under this scheme will be provided with full ownership rights over the flats and an undivided land share without any registration charges.

The minister reminded that the foundation stone for the construction of Indiramma Towers has already been laid in several constituencies and the tender process has also been completed in some areas. He said that the selection process is ongoing through open draws after carefully examining the eligibility of the beneficiaries. He stated that as part of the Indiramma scheme, which has already sanctioned lakhs of houses in rural areas, the government is also giving high priority to urban housing construction. He instructed the officials to expedite the identification of lands and other related processes and continue the pace of construction of projects.
