Another hero from the Ravi Teja family has made an entry. His nephew Madhav, came on the screen as a hero with the movie 'Maremma'. Deepabalu will be seen as his partner in this movie. Deepabalu, who won the hearts of the youth with the 'Heartbeat' series, acted in this movie set in a village. The movie, which hit the theaters on September 9th, is streaming on 'Aha' from the 9th of this month.
It is 'Mahishapuram' in Warangal. 'Karni' (Madhav) continues his life by herding goats in that village. After his father dies due to alcoholism, the burden of the family falls on him. He loves Manjula (Deepa Balu), who is his wife. She also decides to marry him. However, 'Uttam' (Manish), who has set his heart on Manjula, is a bit angry with 'Karni'. Although he is a young man from the nearby 'Ramapuram', he is thinking of marrying Manju.
'Karni' loves a bull called 'Maari' and raises it to sacrifice it to the village goddess 'Maremma'. Once, the entire village is washed away due to floods. Then, as soon as the bull is sacrificed, the flood subsides. From then on, they decide to hold a fair every ten years and sacrifice the bull. The 'Karni' family is the one who keeps the sacrificial animal. However, 'Karni' cannot bear the thought of that incident.
Meanwhile, 'Jalandhar' is once humiliated because of Karni... because of Mari. Since then, he is filled with hatred and wants to kill the bull. With the intention of possessing the bull through evil spirits and killing it, Jalandhar contacts a sorcerer. He wears an enchanted amulet given to him by 'Mari' around his neck. From then on, it disappears. What happens to Mari? What kind of situation will Karni face? Who will Manjula marry? That is the rest of the story.
Village deities are very important. The villagers believe that the village deity will protect them from droughts, rains, floods, and epidemics. They organize a fair for that deity. There is a village that has a tradition of sacrificing a buffalo once every ten years. The disappearance of the buffalo before the fair is an intriguing aspect of this story.
The hero falls in love with a girl named Manjula. He also raises the buffalo named 'Mari' with great love. However, he makes enemies from both sides. Uttam, determined to marry Manjula, enters the Jalandhar field with a plan to kill 'Mari'. What does the hero do in such a situation? An interest leads the audience along the story.
Villages .. Beliefs of the villagers .. Village deities .. Fairs .. Occult powers .. Sacrifice .. The director has tried his best to keep the complete village background before the eyes. He has tried to run the main story by touching on love .. family emotions. However, it seems that touching every aspect lightly is a mistake. Vinod Kumar as 'Dharmanna' ..The characters of 'Uttam' who wanted to win over Manjula are completely revealed. The character of 'Jalandhar' is a bit rushed.
The story should have increased in suspense as the buffalo disappears. The people of Mahishapuram who are holding a fair .. and the enemies who wanted to kill the buffalo are also looking for it, so the interest in who did it should have increased. But the story slows down from there. It moves with weak scenes. They even tried to scare a little with occult rituals but it didn't work out.
Prashanth Ankireddy's photography .. Prashanth R Vihari's music .. Saibabu's editing seem like a pattern. Since this is Madhav's first film, that novelty is still evident. Deepabalu is a good artist. An attempt can be made to make the girl's character more attractive. The Telangana village background .. The attempt to show beliefs on screen is good. But the lack of proper work on the story makes it unsatisfactory.
