Shocking facts are emerging in the process of revising the voters' list in Hyderabad. A man who died 24 years ago has filed an online application to remove the vote of his surviving wife, which is causing a stir. This strange incident has further strengthened suspicions about irregularities in the voters' list.

Bilkis Sultana, a resident of Bholakpur in Musheerabad constituency, has had the right to vote for three decades. Her husband Mohammed Rafiquddin died in 2002. However, as part of the recent revision of the voters' list, a Form-7 application was filed online in the name of Rafiquddin, who died 24 years ago. The application stated that his wife Bilkis Sultana had died and that her name should be removed from the list. Based on this bogus application, the authorities removed her vote. Upon learning of the matter, the victim had to apply again for the right to vote through Form-6.

This is not the only case, in the same Musheerabad constituency, a few days ago, a Booth Level Agent (BLA) Balachander submitted fake Form-7 documents to remove 31 votes. The officials investigated this on the orders of the Election Commission and registered a case against Balachander at Chikkadapalli police station.

There are allegations that such bogus Form-7s have been filed on a large scale in constituencies like Musheerabad, Goshamahal, Bahadurpura, Amberpet, Karwan, and Chandrayangutta. It has come to the notice of higher authorities that some people are trying to pressure and threaten the BLOs to get more forms approved.

After receiving large-scale complaints about these irregularities, District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan issued clear orders. It was suggested that only if the family members of the deceased apply with a death certificate, they should be taken manually and a decision should be taken only after thoroughly examining the online applications at the field level. Recently, State Chief Electoral Officer Sudarshan Reddy also visited Musheerabad and expressed his deep anger over the BLO who accepted Form-7 without a death certificate. The officials have ordered a thorough investigation into who is behind these bogus applications.
