The Khairatabad Maha Ganapati Shobha Yatra, which is the capital of Hyderabad, began on Friday morning with great pomp. With this, the ten-day grand celebrations of Vinayaka Chavithi in the city have come to an end.

This year, the 69-foot-tall idol, which was seen as 'Panchamukha Sankatahara Maha Ganapati' this year, was placed on a special heavy transport vehicle (transporter) after the darshan ended on Thursday night. The Shobha Yatra started a little late instead of 6 am due to welding work and other final arrangements. Officials estimate that the immersion in Hussain Sagar will be completed by 2 pm.

The yatra, which started from Khairatabad Mandapam, will reach Tank Bund via Rajiv Gandhi Statue, Telephone Bhavan, Iqbal Minar, Telugu Thalli Junction, and Secretariat. Police have made tight security arrangements across the city during this yatra. Thousands of personnel and special teams are being deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession.

The statue, made of environmentally friendly clay, was visited by more than 2.5 million devotees over a period of ten days. Officials have appealed to all the people to cooperate in ensuring a peaceful conclusion of the festivities.
