Hyderabad has topped the list of 'white collar' (office) job vacancies among other major metro cities in the country. According to the latest 'Jobspeak' report released by leading job portal 'Naukari.com', recruitments in Hyderabad have grown by 9 percent in September compared to last year. It is noteworthy that the growth in recruitments at the national level has been recorded at only 2 percent during the same period.

According to the Naukari report, after Hyderabad (9%), Chennai (6%), Bengaluru (4%), and Kolkata (4%) cities have shown positive growth. While recruitments in Pune have remained stable, job opportunities have declined by 6 percent in the country's financial capital Mumbai and the National Capital Region (Delhi-NCR).

If analyzed by sector, the highest growth of 20 percent has been recorded in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) sectors. The automobile sector has grown by 11 percent on the back of festive season demand and the expansion of electric vehicles. However, hiring in key sectors like IT-Software (-4%), Pharma (-4%), Hospitality (-11%), and Education (-18%) has declined.

The report also revealed that companies are giving priority to experienced candidates in their current recruitment. While demand for those with 13-16 years of experience increased by 7%, hiring of freshers has increased by just 1%. Meanwhile, hiring in the mid-level category with 4-7 years of experience has declined by 2%.
