As the nomination process for the municipal elections was on the last day, there was a tense atmosphere in Pulivendula of Kadapa district on Sunday morning. Police were deployed in large numbers at the residence of YSR Congress Party MP YS Avinash Reddy. Officials said that these measures were taken to prevent any untoward incidents.

Along with Avinash Reddy's house, the police have also made tight security arrangements at the local YCP office. A barbed wire fence was also installed around the office and restrictions were imposed to prevent anyone from gathering. On the other hand, in Kadapa city, the police have placed YCP district leader Ravindranath Reddy and former minister Anjad Basha under house arrest.

Similarly, the police have taken precautionary measures in Palnadu district. Former Vinukonda MLA Bolla Brahmanaidu has been placed under house arrest at his residence in Narasaraopet. Police sources explained that these measures are being taken as part of maintaining law and order during the nominations for local body elections across the state, and that they are ensuring that no one gathers in groups and creates tension.
