The Tirumala shrine is all set for another festival. The Navaratri Brahmotsavams of the Kaliyuga God Sri Venkateswara Swamy will be held with great splendor from October 12th to 20th. Due to the arrival of the Adhika month, two Brahmotsavams are being organized for the Lord this year. While the Salakatla Brahmotsavams have already ended in the Bhadrapada month, this Navratri Brahmotsavam is being organized in the Ashwayuja month to commemorate the Dussehra Navarathri. These festivals will begin with the Ankurarpana on October 11th.
Usually, Adhika month falls once every three years according to the lunar calendar. When this happens, it is Tirumala tradition to organize the annual Brahmotsavams in the Kanyama month (Bhadrapada) and the Navaratri Brahmotsavams in the Ashwayuja month. These Navratri Brahmotsavams have a special feature. Unlike the annual Brahmotsavams, these do not have events like flag hoisting and flag raising. The festivities begin directly with the offering of the saplings and end with the bathing of the chariots.
The Garuda Vahana Seva, which is eagerly awaited by devotees during these festivities, will be held on October 16. Similarly, the Pushpaka Vimana on October 17, the Swarnaratham procession on the 19th, and the Chakrasnanam on the 20th will be held in grand style. Every day, the morning Vahana Seva is held from 8 am to 10 am, and the night services from 7 pm to 9 pm. However, the Garuda Vahana Seva will be held on October 16 from 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm.
