All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy said that there is a healthy competition among the middle-order batsmen of the Indian team. He said that when one scores runs, the other gets inspired, and when the opportunity comes, the determination to excel increases. He explained that such competition plays a key role in the team's success.
The Indian middle-order is performing brilliantly in the ongoing five-match T20 series against New Zealand. It played a key role in chasing a huge target of 226 runs in the first match and in achieving a target of 181 runs in difficult conditions in the second match.
Speaking ahead of the third T20, Nitish said, "There will definitely be competition in the team. But it should be a healthy competition. If Naman or Tilak scores runs... I will wait for my chance. If I score runs when they fail... they will hope for their chance later. This is how the team game grows. This is what healthy competition is."
Nitish said that the main reason for the Indian team's success is playing according to the conditions in New Zealand. "It is important to focus on the current situation and assess the match conditions correctly. Although a lot of cricket is played in India... the conditions in New Zealand are different. We need to understand the conditions here and plan and execute according to our strengths," he explained.
