Good news for the unemployed in Indian Railways. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on Sunday released an official notification for the recruitment of 3,548 posts under Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC - Graduate). The notification said that this is a great opportunity for graduates to work in various departments of railway operations and administration.

The posts will be filled in a total of four categories through this recruitment. Out of these, 2,750 are for Goods Train Manager posts, 371 are for Senior Clerk cum Typist posts, 300 are for Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist posts, and 127 are for Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor posts. These recruitments will be made in the Commercial, Train Operations, Accounts, and Administration departments.

The selected candidates will be paid as per the recommendations of the Seventh Central Pay Commission (7th CPC). The post of Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor will get a starting basic pay of Rs. 35,400 under Pay Level 6. The posts of the remaining three categories (Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant, Senior Clerk) will get a starting basic pay of Rs. 29,200 under Pay Level 5. In addition to these, other allowances will also be applicable.

The online application process, which began on October 8, will end on November 6 at 11:59 pm. The last date for payment of the examination fee is November 8, while changes in the application have been allowed from November 9 to 18.

Candidates who have completed a degree from a recognized university can apply for these posts. The age of the candidates should be between 18 and 33 years as on January 1, 2027. As per the rules, there will be relaxations in the age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of a two-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), verification of documents and medical examination. However, the Railways has said that the mandatory Computer Based Typing Skill Test for the posts of Junior Accounts Assistant and Senior Clerk has been waived this time. The notification clarified that their typing skills will be checked after joining the job.
