Enna Vilai' is one of the unique films made in Tamil this year. Nimisha Sajayan played a key role in this film, which stars Karunas as the protagonist. Varadarajulu puts 'Tavashi' in the cell when he goes to the police station. He lies that he stole the jewel from the temple.
When it turns out that no jewel was missing from the temple there, Varadarajulu gets scolded by the SI. He wants to frame Tavashi for a theft case that happened in a lodge a few months ago. Tavashi's younger sister catches an advocate 'Kanchana' (Nimisha Sajayan) who she knows and tells her the matter. So she intervenes on Tavashi's behalf. What challenges will she face then? Will Tavashi be acquitted? What is the background behind the locket? That is the rest of the story.
Many films have come to the screen with stories about the coastal area .. fishermen's hut .. the injustice they face there .. their fight for justice. However, all those stories are mostly set in the backdrop of fishing. This is a different story. This story revolves around an expensive locket found in the sea .. around the protagonist who finds that locket.
Honesty .. trust are seen more strongly in innocence. The story takes a turn when one such innocent fisherman shows the locket he found in the sea to a beat constable. From there, the story gains momentum as it reaches the court. On one side, the evidence changes colors .. evidence, on the other side, the media rushes, this story runs towards the pre-climax and reaches the climax .. with the intervention of the Chief Minister.
The constables have to convince their superiors and the court that Tavashi stole the locket. Their efforts to convince them make this story more interesting. Alas, the audience should feel a tension as to how Tavashi will get out of this case. But the lack of design of such disturbing scenes makes it disappointing.
It must be said that the courtroom scenes are crucial to this story. This is where the audience needs to be kept still. But the arguments .. counter-arguments seem a bit weak. The dialogues seem to be poorly written. Therefore, the scenes are blurry. However, in the end, the attempt to convey the message that even a poor person has dignity .. that dignity has a value .. seems to be a good one.
Karunas .. Nimisha Sajayan and other characters have all acted very well. I feel that it would have been better if the character of Mohan Raman the constable had been designed in a more interesting way. Alby Antony's photography .. Sam CS's background music .. the editing is not bad.
