Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has warned that strict action will be taken against those who defy party orders and contest as rebels in the local body elections. He issued clear orders to this effect in a teleconference with party leaders today. He suggested that nominations filed as rebel candidates should be withdrawn immediately and that everyone should work for the victory of the official candidates of the alliance.

Chandrababu directed that the selection of candidates and campaign activities should be coordinated with allies Janasena and BJP and move forward. He hoped that better results would be achieved in the local elections than those achieved in the general elections. With the aim of providing representation to all communities in the governance, it was revealed that the 11 corporations in which the TDP is contesting have been allocated to 11 different social groups.

Chandrababu assured that party workers who did not get tickets in these elections due to alliances and adjustments will be given nominated posts in the future and justice will be done. He called on party cadres to conduct door-to-door campaigns explaining the government's development and welfare schemes.
