MP Kesineni Shivnath Chinni stated that last year's Navratri celebrations were celebrated with great pomp and show of devotion with the blessings of Goddess Durga. The government is making arrangements to celebrate this year with greater pomp and show. CM Chandrababu Naidu has issued orders to the concerned officials to this effect, he said.

Minister Kesineni Sivanath said that this year's Navratri celebrations will be held in a way that once again shows that Vijayawada is the capital of culture and art. He revealed that Vijayawada Utsav, National Lake Mela, and a food festival with delicious dishes will be organized on the occasion of Navratri. He said that all the programs to be held during the festivals will be explained in the curtain raise event to be held tomorrow (Monday). To this extent, the Lake Mela will continue from October 8 to 23, and Vijayawada Utsav programs from October 11 to 20. The Minister said that arrangements are being completed to organize these programs at Poonami Ghat and MBK Stadium. Along with these, there will be performances by artists for ten days. The Minister said that arrangements will also be made to bring Mysore elephants to these festivals.

Kesineni said that CMs of other states and Union ministers are being invited to these festivals. Since CMs of many states are likely to come, programs have been designed to reflect the culture of their respective states. He said that arrangements are being made for the guests to see the darshan of the goddess, the lake mela and the Vijayawada Utsav. He appealed to the devotees to plan their schedule for two days. They should have darshan of the goddess in the morning and watch these festivals in the evening. He said that all kinds of arrangements are being made to this extent so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. Minister Kesineni said that if the people and the media also give good suggestions, they will take them.
