Cantonment Board officials completely demolished the KJR Garden, which has been controversial for decades in Secunderabad Cantonment, on Friday. The demolition process was undertaken as per the court orders.
On Friday morning, the Cantonment officials reached KJR Garden with heavy police security and machinery. Later, they started demolishing the function hall structure. The police took precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident. The officials completely demolished the structure within a few hours.
The dispute over the illegal construction at the said site has been going on in the court since 1996. The Cantonment Board had previously clarified that the KJR Garden management had built a function hall in violation of the rules and was conducting commercial activities. In a long-running legal battle on this matter, the court recently ruled in favor of the Cantonment Board.
The Cantonment officials completed the demolition process as per the court orders. This seems to have put an end to a dispute that has been going on for more than two decades. With this move, the authorities seem to have issued a stern warning to other illegal builders in the Cantonment area.
