Several Congress leaders in Narsapur constituency of Medak district have joined the BRS party. Former minister Harish Rao welcomed the leaders who joined the party by covering them with scarves. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Congress era in the state is over.

Usually, there is migration from the opposition to the ruling party, but it is unusual for leaders from the ruling Congress to join the opposition BRS even though there are still two years left for the elections. He criticized the fact that during the three-year Congress rule, not even road repairs were undertaken, and the roads have become potholes and are causing accidents.

Harish Rao said that people are deposing Congress leaders due to the failure of development works and that Congress workers are joining the BRS thinking that it is better to work under the leadership of KCR than to be in a party facing public opposition. He called the 'Future City' project, which the government is talking about as ambitious, a 'city without a future'. He was furious that such projects are being undertaken without providing basic facilities in existing residential areas.
