Pakistan's star batsman Babar Azam has achieved another rare milestone in his career. He has created history by becoming the fifth Pakistani cricketer to complete 16,000 runs in international cricket. Babar achieved this feat in the ODI tri-series match against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Babar reached this milestone in just 399 innings. With this, he has set a record as the third fastest player to complete 16,000 runs for Pakistan. Only Mohammad Yousuf (388 innings) and Javed Miandad (398 innings) were before him.

Overall, only Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Javed Miandad and Mohammad Yousuf have achieved this feat for Pakistan, but now Babar Azam has joined them.

Babar was just 7 runs away from this record before the start of the match against Sri Lanka. After Pakistan lost the toss and elected to bat, Babar came to the crease in the third over when opener Saim Ayub was dismissed. He quickly crossed this milestone with his signature style of runs with his amazing drives. Babar, who played aggressively in this match, scored 45 runs in 57 balls with 6 fours and was dismissed by Ishan Malinga.

Currently, an ODI tri-series is being played on Pakistan soil with Sri Lanka and England. The final match of this series, which will be held in a double round-robin format, will be played on October 31 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
