An argument between two young women and an auto driver over an auto fare in the city led to a violent clash. The police responded after a video of the incident on the highway went viral on social media, prompting them to arrest the auto driver.
The incident took place in Sector 3 of HSR Layout in Bengaluru on Monday afternoon. In the viral video, two young women and an auto driver were seen pushing and hitting each other. As the argument escalated and the situation escalated, another woman present intervened and tried to separate them. Some people recorded a video of the incident and posted it on social media, which went viral in no time.
After the video went viral on social media, the HSR Layout police took note of the incident. They asked the young women to contact them and file a complaint. On Tuesday, a young woman filed a complaint at the police station, and the police arrested the driver, Chetan Kumar (33). A case was registered under the section of assault with intent to outrage the modesty of a woman.
According to the police investigation, the young women, who work at a salon in Koramangala, booked an auto through an app. It seems that the fight started over the cancellation of the booking several times and the auto fare. However, the driver told the police that the young women were drunk and that they had attacked him after abusing him for not paying the fare, and that he had only resisted. The police are investigating these allegations.
