Telangana Defence Sena President Kalvakuntla Kavitha has strongly criticized the Revanth Reddy government for its complete failure to deal with the impact of El Nino and the impending water shortage in the state. She accused the government of lacking foresight. She made these comments while speaking to the media at the party office in Banjara Hills. She said that even

though experts warned about the impact of El Nino at the beginning of the year, the government did not pay attention and failed to take timely preventive measures. She criticized that neighboring states have already declared drought zones and submitted reports to the Center, but it is outrageous that the Telangana government is now asking farmers to make sacrifices.

Kavitha expressed concern that the state will face severe water shortage for the next 10 months. She questioned how justified it is to blame the old government even after almost 30 months of coming to power. She demanded that the scheme to provide Rs. 12,000 annually to agricultural laborers be implemented immediately and that life insurance be provided to them in view of the drought conditions.

At the same time, Kavitha alleged that the government is trying to privatize the Yadadri Power Plant. Have any agreements been signed with private companies? She questioned. Revanth Reddy spoke about constitutional values in Delhi, but criticized that they are acting undemocratically in the state.
